Using the Console to Investigate VPS Issues

1. Login to your control panel as you normally would and select the VPS that you would like to troubleshoot.

2. Select the "Serial Console" button near the bottom of the screen.

3. When the screen for the serial console has been entered, it will ask you to enter a password, which will be given under the "Connection Details" link toward the top of the page. Enter this password in the pop up. If the username is not already filled in, retrieve it too from the Connection Details and enter it into the pop up.

4. Be sure to accept the use of Java in your browser as it will be required for the client we have implemented.

5. Once you are connected, you will be able to see the output of your server as it boots up or if it has crashed. This information will be useful to diagnose what went wrong with your server which can be passed to our support team if needed.
